HIPS – GENERAL INFORMATION
Home Information Packs - “HIPs” - are a set of documents which must be provided by the seller of any residential property in England and Wales.

They must be made available before the property is put on the market, for review by any potential buyer.

HIPs are designed to speed up the sale process by providing certain key information about the property at the start of the transaction. It is intended that having this information available from the outset will obviate the need for later communication on minor matters between the parties at a later date – thus saving time and money.

HIPs must contain: an Energy Performance Certificate, Title Documents relating to your property, various searches (depending on the location of the property) and any other relevant information documentation that could assist the buyer’s solicitor.
